Spike's Visit to Washington

A few weeks ago Elder Raymond "AKA Spike" came out to visit with his family. We met them down at the Space Needle and then went to Pike's Place Market. Nick (Spike) had a good time running through the fountain and Preston just had to follow and get his head wet.

Summer Activities

Since Lorelei is out of school for the summer and her dance classes ended she decided that she'd like to try swimming. She has completed two weeks of lessons now and has really enjoyed it. The kids also enjoyed story time at the central library in downtown Seattle. Preston is really starting to get involved in performing the actions and trying to say words.

Leavenworth

Today we drove out past my rotation site in Sultan to see Leavenworth the "Little Bavaria." The drive past Mount Bering and up through Stevens pass was beautiful. The kids had a great time running down the grass hill in the city center and the little shops were really neat. On the way back home we stopped to see Deception Falls.

Mount St Helens

Today we were able to go to Mount St. Helens. Earlier in the day it was a bit cloudy and we weren't sure if we'd get a clear view, but it ended up working out great. We had fun hiking around trails at the visitor center as well as the cool movie with awesome sound. Lorelei got a little sliver but other than that it was a great day.

Narada Falls

Narada falls provided a nice refreshing spray on the way up to Mount Rainier and we got a great view of the mountain face by the Nisqually River.

Mount Rainier

The second place on our Washington trek was Mount Rainier. Huge trees tower the road up to Paradise and seem to create a great hallway and grand entrance to the mountain. Mt. Rainier was even bigger than expected and absolutely beautiful. There was still melting snow on most of the trails and the kids has a great time running around outside.

Whidbey Island

We decided we needed to see a few more places during our last few months in Seattle. So we started with Deception Pass on Whidbey Island on the advise from Uncle Skip. You can see the San Juan Islands from the beach We also made a stop by Fort Casey state park to see the lighthouse and cannons before heading home on the ferry.

Vrooom Vrooom

Preston is a big fan of the four wheelers and really enjoyed his rides with his Grandpas. Whenever he hears a motor going his hand starts going with a reving motion LOL. Too bad we don't have the ol' IROC-Z!
